INWARDS | Pause as a starting point of transformation

Luminous Eye is pleased to announce the opening on Friday, November 12 2021, of the group exhibition “Inwards”- Pause as a starting point of transformation, curated by Haris Kakarouhas.

Participating artists: Aggelina Pagoni, Aristotelis Chatzikyrou, Barbara Vandendriessche, Amalia Tsakiri, Dimitra Stathopoulou, Maria Tsompatzoglou, Cloe Harent, Krystallia Ioannidou, Mica Novaes, Daphne Kotsiani.

The artists of the exhibition used during the pandemic the photographic medium to reflect their experienced inner reality. For them the pandemic was a process of reflection on the values they stand for in their life, their relationship with the world, a different angle to see their motivations, goals and aspirations. They were led to an introspection and observation. And this change of direction became the starting point for the transformation of the gaze.

By participating in the journeys mentioned above, the viewer is in turn invited to live his own inner adventure, concluding once again that, in the end, we materialize visually nothing else but our inner reality.

The works were selected in the order mentioned above – through an international competition launched by Luminous Eye in spring 2020 – by a jury composed of photographers Kostis Antoniadis, Vassilis Gerontakos, Haris Kakarouhas and psychotherapist Efi Mitropoulou.
