Luminous Eye is hosting George Digalakis’ solo exhibition “The Sound of Silence“.
Four years have already passed since my last exhibition. Four years in which I have completed a few new projects, but the pandemic forced me to postpone planned exhibitions at least on two occasions. Like so many people around the world, the pandemic has also restricted travels and imposed a degree of isolation from friends, colleagues, and students. On the other hand, I found an opportunity in this situation to slow down, travel alone and explore remote locations around Greece.
Even if light is everything in photography, this is not what I most remember about these remote aquatic ecosystems; it is silence. A deep silence unknown in urban areas, a secret garden that inspires me to create peaceful images with a “zen” quality. This is how “The Sound of Silence” was born. The lockdown is now over, the project has been completed and the time has come to share it with you through an exhibition here in Athens.
